Imagine sitting by the River Thames at Bishop’s Park, ukulele in hand, as rowers glide past and the sun sets behind Hammersmith Bridge. Hammersmith and Fulham are packed with great spots to play—whether it’s a peaceful moment in Ravenscourt Park or a lively jam near the pubs and cafés of King Street. The mix of riverside charm and creative energy makes this the perfect place to strum a few chords and let the music flow.

Living in Hammersmith and Fulham, I’ve found some incredible places to play the ukulele. One of my favorites is Bishop’s Park—there’s nothing quite like sitting by the Thames, playing a few tunes while watching the rowers and passing boats. The view of Hammersmith Bridge, especially at sunset, adds a perfect backdrop to any melody.
For a more relaxed vibe, Ravenscourt Park is a gem. It’s peaceful, full of greenery, and always has a quiet spot to sit and strum away. Sometimes, I’ll take my ukulele to Furnivall Gardens, right by the river, where the gentle breeze and open space make it an ideal place to practice. And when I’m in the mood for a little more energy, King Street and the surrounding cafés and pubs always have a creative buzz that’s perfect for a spontaneous ukulele session.
Hammersmith and Fulham have a rich musical history, from legendary gigs at the Apollo to lively pub sessions. But the ukulele brings something different—a fun, laid-back sound that fits right into the riverside charm and artistic spirit of the area. Whether I’m playing solo or with friends, this part of London always feels like the perfect stage.
